How to join Leewood Motor Club

It's very simple to join Leewood. Firstly you will need to buy a licence. You can buy an adult racing licence, junior racing licence, mechanics, or social licence. You can get your licence forms at either of the two signing-on meetings at the start of the season, or you can apply for a form from our membership secretary (you will find their contact details under the committee section).

The signing-on meetings are held at Hopwood Unionist Club in Heywood on the 4th of January, and the 1st of Febuary 2010. The meetings start at 8pm, feel free to come along, have a pint (or two) and meet the members.

Racing Licence

This will enable 16+ year olds to race at Leewood or any other NASA clubs until the end of the current season. You will receive a members handbook, and rulebook of your chosen class. You will also receive a copy of the clubs constitution and will have to sign a membership agreement.

Juniors Licence

This will enable 12-16 year olds to race at Leewood or any other NASA clubs until the end of the current season. You will receive a members handbook, and rulebook of your chosen class. You will also receive a copy of the clubs constitution and will have to sign a membership agreement. Also a parent/guardian must sign an under 18 consent form.

Mechanic Licence

This will enable you to gain access to the pits during racing. Ideal for parents/guardians of Juniors, or to accompany a driver. You will receive a members handbook. You will also receive a copy of the clubs constitution and will have to sign a membership agreement.

Social Licence

This will enable you to be a member of Leewood Motor Club, and attend our social monthly meetings at the Hopwood Unionists Club. You can also stand for a committee position and help out during race meetings: this includes; marshalling, lap-scoring, commentating, pits control etc. This is ideal for partners/parents of race drivers.
